Ocean & Trail Escapes
Support with heart, connection and purpose
Ocean & Trail Escapes was created from a simple belief: support should help people feel included, heard and connected, and nature can be a wonderful place for that to happen.

Founded by Kim and Valerie, Ocean & Trail Escapes is a registered NDIS provider offering small group outings, personalised one-to-one assistance and meaningful community experiences across the Mid North Coast of NSW.
More than getting out and about
For us, community access is about more than simply going somewhere. It’s about creating opportunities to connect, try new things, build confidence and enjoy experiences alongside others.

Our aim is to make the beauty and benefits of nature more accessible to people with disability while supporting confidence, independence, social connection and everyday life skills.

We recognise that every person has different interests, abilities, goals and dreams. That’s why our support is shaped around the individual, with choice and genuine participation at the centre.

Nature is a big part of who we are, but it isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether it’s a small group adventure, exploring a favourite local place, trying something new or simply getting out into the community, we take the time to understand what matters to each person.
Why small groups matter
Large programs can feel busy, impersonal or overwhelming. Our small group model offers a more relaxed, welcoming environment where everyone can be part of the conversation.

We intentionally keep our groups small so we can provide personalised support, respond to different abilities and interests, and help each person feel included rather than lost in a crowd.

Support ratios vary depending on the outing and the needs of the participants. Most groups operate at a 1:2 support ratio, with selected 1:3 group supports also available.

Being intentionally small allows us to know the people we support, respond personally and create experiences around individual interests rather than fitting participants into a large program.

Dignity of risk and informed choice
We take participant safety seriously, particularly when activities take place outdoors or in national parks. We also respect each person’s right to make informed choices, try new things and take reasonable risks.

By balancing duty of care with dignity of risk, we provide clear information, consider individual support needs and reasonable adjustments, and support participants to make informed choices about the experiences that are right for them.
We see the value in green and blue spaces Forests, beaches, rivers & open spaces
can provide opportunities to move, connect, learn, relax and experience a sense of belonging.
Our values
Our values guide how we support, communicate and create experiences with the people we work alongside.

We believe meaningful support is never one-size-fits-all. It should be personal, respectful and shaped around what matters to each participant.

By taking the time to listen and understand individual interests, goals and support needs, we can create experiences that encourage choice, connection, confidence and genuine participation.
